I was walking toward the park this morning and noticed the fountain at Leimert Park had turned into the biggest bird bath in town!
Since it might be difficult to really see the birds bathing in my first photo, I added these close-ups...
Wish my bathtub was this big!! ;)

The Tree in the Park
There is an amazing tree in Leimert Park and I chose this picture to share with you all. I've taken other pictures of it's fantastic surface - there is so much texture to it. I will try to locate those close ups and share them later this week, but for now enjoy a moment under the leaves of this wonderful tree as this young man has done...

Good Intentions...
Hello friends,
I want to apologize for not posting in the past week. I'm hoping to keep to a regular posting schedule but I have been a bit swamped at the office lately. I will endeavor to keep to a regular schedule in the future...for today I will give some information and background on this little project...
I work in the Leimert Park area and I take many walks during the day which have lead me to discover the many charms of this little neighborhood, which I hope to share with you through this blog. However, since I have other projects in the works I expect this project to be a short term one, though I do hope that someone in the neighborhood may be inspired to take up the reins when it is time for me leave this charming community...in the meantime I will leave you with a picture I took of the interior wall mural at the Starbucks located on Crenshaw and Vernon, which, sadly, will be closing on July 31, 2009, as I learned this morning...
If you do not want to see this establishment close, please go to the Starbucks website and let them know how important this place is to the community. Thank you for stopping by for a "visual visit"!

Leimert Park Fountain...
L.A. From Leimert...
I took this picture of downtown Los Angeles when I discovered this vantage point of L.A. on one of my many walks in the neighborhood of Leimert. This area is part of Mount Vernon near the corner of Mount Vernon and Paloma. I liked how the haze makes the city look like it's a ghost of itself...I'll be sharing other photos of downtown L.A. from this vantage point soon!

A Simple Start
Hello and welcome to Leimert Lovely!
I am starting this blog with the intention of sharing images I have captured in a community called Leimert Park, of Los Angeles California, where I have been working since October 2008.
As a Native Angeleno, I had known about this little city but not visited. Now I work in this lovely neighborhood every day and have gotten to know a few of the locals, all of whom are friendly and welcoming. It is a wonderful community and I hope you will grow to love it as I have and maybe come out to take a look for yourself!
